A Drink and A Smoke

I never really thought about it much until I started to type this post about how many of my friends and family members enjoy getting cigarettes and liquor as gifts, guess it sounds a bit strange, but what ever floats your boat is what I’m known for saying. So with that being said I have been surfing the Internet to find discount liquor and discount cigarettes and I’m happy to say that I have been finding a good amount of both tonight.

I remember the first time I saw someone give someone a carton of cigarettes for Christmas. I thought it was the oddest gift ever, but considering how much a carton of cigarettes cost these days I can see where a smoker would certainly appreciate a whole carton of their favorite smokes as a gift.

And as for liquor, what well can I say. Who wouldn’t enjoy a bottle or two of a nice bottle of wine or what ever else they enjoy drinking, as long as they are over 21! This could make Christmas shopping a whole lot easier!

We Love Each and Every One of Our Pets

We are a home filled with animal lovers so of course our house is filled with a variety of animals. I am lucky in the fact that other family members actually do pitch in with all the work that it takes to take care of all of these critters. I remember the first dog that we got, my mother had a fit, swearing that I would be sorry, telling me that I would be the only one taking care of him. I am always happy to prove my mother wrong and this time it is no different.

The only real issue at this point is the inevitable stains that appear on my wall-to-wall carpet that is covering the majority of the floors in the upper level of the house. I used to rent a carpet cleaning machine every couple of months, what a pain in the rear that was, it was a great Christmas when I received my own carpet cleaning machine as a present.! T

he machine works real well but there are a few places that are really being stubborn so I took some time and looked online to find some carpet cleaning tips pet stains and was dismayed to find nothing that I had not all ready tried in the past to no avail.

But what I did find is a local company at The Steam Team that offers a solution that I had not heard or tried yet. After cleaning urine spots, you immediately blot until no more moisture comes up with a white terry cloth towel or plain white paper towels. Then you mix 1 part white vinegar to 2 parts water and massage into the spot with a white terry cloth, do not rub. After flushing as much of the urine out as possible blot with dry cloths until the feel dry to the touch. And if you have a small extraction machine you should flush with clean water until the spot is totally removed. If that doesn’t work they suggest contacting them and have them come in and let the professionals do what they do best, which is exactly what I plan on doing after trying their solution tomorrow.

Deals On YouTube

The day I discovered YouTube was a great day. Now it seems as if I have been on it for ages and that it has been there forever for all of our music and video wants and needs. So it was weird to hear on the radio today that YouTube has really only been around since 2005. What in the world did we do without it?

Today I was spending a bit of free time online during lunch at my desk and ended up on YouTube, which as you know you go just click and keep clicking and keep coming up with great stuff one right after another, forever.

I stumbled upon a video about a music shop near me that seemed to have some pretty good products going for some pretty decent prices. It’s not the first time I’d seen or heard of Musician’s Friend but I did a bit of checking around and it seems to check out. Since I am trying to do as much of my Christmas shopping online this year, sites like these will come into play more and more in the next couple of weeks.

Electronic Cigarettes

We seem to be hearing and seeing these new fangled electronic cigarettes that there has been so much hype about these past couple of years. It seems that most of the convenience stores have signs right on the door or the front window stating that you can buy electronic cigarettes in there, and the prices don’t seem to be that unreasonable. Of course I understand now that you have to buy additional cartridges for them on occasion and I don’t have a clue how much those costs at this point, but I’m sure it wouldn’t be too hard to find out considering the Internet brings you that kind of information in just a moment or two.

I was in the grocery store a few weeks back and passed a guy in the tea and coffee aisle that had what appeared to be a lit cigarette, which provoked me to take a second look, which then I figured out that it did not have any odor and that I didn’t see a single cloud of cigarette smoke hanging in the air. Of course he saw the funny look on my face and he made a comment that his new electronic cigarette was bringing him a lot in attention when he used it in places that you normally wouldn’t see a person smoking anything. And that he has been asked a few times all ready to please extinguish it or go outside!  LOL

Valuable Software

My subscription for the antivirus software program that came pre-installed on my desktop PC has expired and I’m not going to just automatically renew it. I want to take a fresh look at antivirus software programs available and see if there are better options. My IT friends at the office told me check out the internet for antivirus software programs from other companies, like CyberDefender dot com for free trials and other good software to protect my PC.

While I’m checking out software I might as well take a look at the newest sibelius first software that is so useful for folks like me that likes to write music.

One of the threats that concerns me the most is the malware that sneaks onto your PC and steals your passwords and account information. I think that is the way a lot of people are exposed to identity theft and I want to make sure that whatever I do I am protected from that. Not that I keep a lot of personal stuff on the computer in the first place, but there are probably cookies with information stored deep on the hard drive that I don’t even know about. CyberDefender has products to stop malware, worms and trojans, plus other products that seem to be more aggressive than some of the free ones that I’ve seen. And I like the fact that they have a toll free phone number for technical support 24/7.
