Not Just Shopping, But Retail Therapy

Not Just Shopping

How is it that Ozmott, an app I hadn’t heard about until recently but has been around since 2012, has figured out how to complete my life?! I’ve used numerous shopping apps, however this one has proven itself unique.

Ozmott has taken all of the perks such as Rewards, Social Networking, Gaming & Ease of Use to a level that I can truly appreciate. I didn’t have to spend hours sifting through offers and clipping items I want to use. However, I can add deals to my Cloud if I thought I might want to use them later. I was able to add my friends to the app so that they could get deals too and I (most importantly) earned bigger rewards for the more friends I added!

The rewards system Ozmott uses is called “Pips”. They carry two types of deals: Regular (the white ones) and Luxe (the gold ones) Guess which ones have the biggest discounts? Yep, Luxe! Unlock one of those babies and you’re saving some dolla dolla billz y’all! Quick tip-they give you 100 Pips just for signing up to help get you rolling.

OH! GEOlocation is such a cool feature! It brings up the offers/stores that have deals NEAR me! And not, the closest metro near me BUT REALLY, the ones right in my town literally 1 mile away! Or closer, depending on where you are.. duh;) Since I live in such a small town that finding a guitar center near me or any of the many stores that that I spend a good amount of money at can only be find online unless I want to drive 3 hours to get to any place of a decent sized brick and mortar store(s)

Ozmott doesn’t send me those ANNOYING push notifications! They don’t even ask! I was so happy not to be bothered with this. I’m sorry if I seem over the top on this issue but it is definitely a pet peeve.

So, let’s wrap this up in a tight little package and use it to save some cash during the Holidays.

  • Geolocation – Shows you what deals are close
  • Social Network – Let’s me brag to my friends if I want
  • Rewards System – Get paid to share with my friends
  • Not Annoying!
  • Oh, and let’s not forget easy.. It really is an easy app to sign up with and use
right away.
Have Fun and Happy New Year!

Loud Sounds

There is something about certain noises that really trip my trigger. Sounds like drums, base, thunder, fireworks, shotguns, and the best ever being the low rumble of a Harley-Davidson. And if you give that bike a couple of blasts of gas while going through a tunnel, well, you just can’t get anything better than that, ever.

I can’t wait for my kid brother, Billy to get his new drum set. I never thought that he would ever venture out and replace the one that he has had all his life. We always knew he was going to be a drummer. Billy would loudly rock back and forth and bang his head in his crib, sometimes for hours before going to sleep and sometimes after he woke up. When Billy got his first real drum set, it was love at first sight. Billy lives to play the drums and has totally no interest in learning and/or playing any other musical instrument. It’s all about the drums!

So this new drum set  at that he has been talking up should be arriving at his door sometime next week. I have a feeling that we are going to see and hear from him, less and less. I’ll give him some “alone time” with it before running over to hear and see it, which isn’t easy for me since I am one of his biggest fans. Always have been and always will be. Even when he was just playing his ever popular thunder tube that he has had for so many years and has entertained dozens of people with this unique sound effect that not a lot of folks know about.

so unique in so many ways

In the mean time I’ll just have to go to the shooting range and practice my shooting with my 20 gauge shotgun to get my audio thrills.

Deals On YouTube

The day I discovered YouTube was a great day. Now it seems as if I have been on it for ages and that it has been there forever for all of our music and video wants and needs. So it was weird to hear on the radio today that YouTube has really only been around since 2005. What in the world did we do without it?

Today I was spending a bit of free time online during lunch at my desk and ended up on YouTube, which as you know you go just click and keep clicking and keep coming up with great stuff one right after another, forever.

I stumbled upon a video about a music shop near me that seemed to have some pretty good products going for some pretty decent prices. It’s not the first time I’d seen or heard of Musician’s Friend but I did a bit of checking around and it seems to check out. Since I am trying to do as much of my Christmas shopping online this year, sites like these will come into play more and more in the next couple of weeks.

Valuable Software

My subscription for the antivirus software program that came pre-installed on my desktop PC has expired and I’m not going to just automatically renew it. I want to take a fresh look at antivirus software programs available and see if there are better options. My IT friends at the office told me check out the internet for antivirus software programs from other companies, like CyberDefender dot com for free trials and other good software to protect my PC.

While I’m checking out software I might as well take a look at the newest sibelius first software that is so useful for folks like me that likes to write music.

One of the threats that concerns me the most is the malware that sneaks onto your PC and steals your passwords and account information. I think that is the way a lot of people are exposed to identity theft and I want to make sure that whatever I do I am protected from that. Not that I keep a lot of personal stuff on the computer in the first place, but there are probably cookies with information stored deep on the hard drive that I don’t even know about. CyberDefender has products to stop malware, worms and trojans, plus other products that seem to be more aggressive than some of the free ones that I’ve seen. And I like the fact that they have a toll free phone number for technical support 24/7.

Drums Are Good For Kids

The past year had been rough on me considering I got let go from my last job and it took forever to find another job that was close by that I qualified for. It took literally months for me to come across the job I have now. It was a hard time for us since I was running far behind on the rent, car payment and other bills, that were long over due. When I finally caught up on expenses, I knew I had to save up enough money since my sons birthday was coming up. In just few short weeks I had made enough money to start shopping around for my sons birthday, but had no clue on what to look for since he was so hard to shop for.

I thought about and remembered right before I had lost my last job, my son was talking about how badly he wanted a drum set so he could learn to play like his father did. With that memory in mind I took an evening to sit in the bed and start up my laptop, to search around on the net for types of hand drums set for kids that would fit him and also wouldn’t break my bank. I found a few good deals but nothing popped out to me,

I was about to end my search for the night, I had came across a great deal here at musiciansfriend.com for a kids drum set. I ordered it immediately with the fear of it selling out considering its price, which was a steak, sorta speak. When it arrived at our home I had one heck of a time hiding it from my son until his birthday.

When his birthday came around him brought out his new drum set and he ripped open the gift paper and I had never seen him smile so big in his life. He hasn’t gotten off his new drum set since that day and has thought himself very well. He is by far a natural and I am excited to see where he takes his talent. I’m so happy that I could give him a gift he absolutely wanted while keeping a wad of cash afterwards for future occasions.
