Dog Parks

When I lived in California we had two dog parks close to my house. One was a small fenced aread with a lot of things to climb and crawl through. The other park was a large field where the dogs could actually run and chase frisbees or tennis balls. We used to go to the dog park 3 – 4 times a week.

Ever since we moved away I have not been able to find any kind of dog park anywhere around here. There is no place where I can safely take my dogs off the leash and let them run. I really miss that.

Hate To Say Good-Bye To Summer

Today is the last day of the kids in this area’s summer vacation. I think we have everything that is on the Back To School Supply List and tonight we will be having an early dinner and hopefully the house will be nice and quiet so that we can all get to bed early to get a good night’s sleep before the big day that starts way too early for my taste.

Indoor Skydiving – How Cool Is That

Oh how I love YouTube.com. Check out this really cool  footage from the world indoor skydiving championship 2008 that was held somewhere over  in England. This is something that really looks like it could be some good clean fun, maybe something that I’d even attempt to do maybe with a little prompting.  Funny how if I did it indoors like what these good folks are going it would be O.K. but to jump out of a perfectly good airplane, no way! LOL!

I am getting a bit frustrated with YouTube.com lately, they keep changing the format and I am constantly trying to figure out how to find my way around it. My Playlist keeps shrinking all the time because so many of my videos have been removed for one reason or another and they don’t even tell you what video it was, you just get a total blank screen, man that gets on my last nerve. I’d just like the chance to replace it with another version, if possible.

I’m Bringing the Cheesecake

This is going to be a crazy busy weekend with the family Easter dinner that I am helping my sister host over at her house. After work tomorrow I am heading straight over to her place to eat dinner and do a few things before hitting the sack nice and early in her guest room in order to get a good night’s rest before tackling the weekend tasks that I have been assigned and asked to do.

Sis is going to be doing most of the cooking while I tackle the cleaning and the decorating that is needed to be done by Sunday. I’m glad that the cheesecake that I ordered online arrived yesterday. That is the only food item that I have been asked to bring to contribute to the meal. Last year, the cheesecake that I ordered was a big hit, so I hope that this year it will be just as well received.

The family is scheduled to start arriving bright and early Easter morning, to start the Easter Egg Hunt that we always hold for all the kiddies each Easter. As the family grows bigger, we need to hide more eggs so everyone will have fun finding lots of candy.

Jessie The Traveling Nurse

It is always such a treat when Jessie, my sister’s ex sister-in-law, comes into town and I am included in the visit. She is a Traveling Nurse and had spent a good amount of her adult life time in the service, so she walks and talks the army and medical issues and has more stories to tell then someone her age has the right to have. LOL! I would love to read her memoirs if she even sits down long enough to write anything down that isn’t necessary for a list, a chart or form!

She gets to see and hear a lot of the new medical items that come out that are necessary for her to learn about and learn to use. She sounds like she can do just about anything that any doctor can do, legally and morally. She can work wonders with a thermometer, blood pressure machine, a finger oximeter all the way up to an x ray machine and MRI and CAT Scans that are always changing and improving as fast as they can pump them out. None of this equipment is cheap and if I asked Jessie to give me the breakdown of what the hospitals are spending on medical equipment, I’m sure she would be able spout out some type of number and or percentage, she really has a wealth of knowledge from such a wide spread area(s).

From what I hear she may be in the area around the Memorial Day Weekend which isn’t too far in the future. This year is flying by. In just a couple of days it will be March, which is one of my favorite months of the year! Say good-bye to winter and hello to spring!
